FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chisasibi, Qc – June 23, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec intercepted a significant amount of alcohol during standard road and traffic operations on Friday June 20, 2025.

From 4 separate vehicles, EEPF seized a total of:

307 x 355 ml cans of alcohol containing beverages 5%/vol.

40 x 750 ml bottles of 40%/vol.

16 x 1.14 L bottles of 40%/vol.

4 x 375 ml bottles of 35%/vol.

The total street value of this seizure is approximately $5,500.

We would also like to remind community members and residents that EEPF works with local by-laws. Residents that do not respect their local by-laws will be fined by way of receiving a ticket or by summons to court. Fundraisers serving alcoholic beverages within community boundaries are also subject to their local by-laws.
